Turning Pointe Autism Foundation Earns Certified Autism Center™ Designation

Turning Pointe Building

Turning Pointe Autism Foundation’s Adult Services – funded by Foglia Family Foundation – is now a Certified Autism Center™ (CAC), a designation granted by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). The designation means that staff have completed additional autism-specific training and certification program through an internationally recognized provider, IBCCES.

Turning Pointe programs provide the opportunity for individuals impacted by autism or co-diagnosed with other disabilities to learn skills in the areas of social communication, independence, and vocational/employment in a supportive environment with a best practice clinical approach to personalized education.

Because research is ongoing, our team must continue to learn and grow,” said Carrie Provenzale, Executive Director of Turning Pointe Autism Foundation. “Certification by IBCCES was a natural next step as our programs evolve. We are proud to be an official Certified Autism Center™ now.”

Turning Pointe is also in the process of earning additional telepractice certifications to better assist individuals during stay-at-home orders. This certification will ensure providers can apply best practices and achieve optimal outcomes when providing virtual services.

For more than 20 years, IBCCES has been the industry leader in cognitive disorder training and certification for education, healthcare, and corporate professionals around the globe. IBCCES provides evidence-based training and certification programs created in conjunction with clinical experts and individuals with autism in order to provide professionals serving individuals with cognitive disorders a better understanding of what these disorders are, industry best practices, and the latest research in these areas.

“IBCCES is excited to work with Turning Pointe Autism Foundation to build upon their team’s expertise. Our specialized programs will help their team do what they do best – help individuals with autism and other disorders,” said Myron Pincomb, IBCCES Board Chairman.

IBCCES also created CertifiedAutismCenter.com, as a free online resource for parents that lists certified locations and professionals. Each organization listed on the site has met Certified Autism Center™ (CAC) requirements.
