D-UP Inc.

D-UP is located at 613 Washington Street in High Point NC. D-UP Inc. began as a grassroots organization, teaching basketball as a tool to cultivate character development and fitness in youth, established in 2007 and incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit in 2010 providing services across the Triad. In 2011, D-UP moved to Washington Street in High Point. Here the organization began adapting and expanding its services to meet the needs of the community and has operated with a focus towards youth and families, offering a variety of services and programs with emphasis on physical activity, nutrition, academics, life and soft skills.

D-UP operates under a culture of awareness, inclusivity and empowerment, and to reflect that our services continue to grow in ensuring our spaces are accommodating and accessible. All of our owned buildings are wheelchair accessible. D-UP’s Wellness and education center hosts several spaces dedicated to being quiet and calm retreats for any of our students or staff. All of D-UP’s services are offered free of charge eliminating financial barriers completely. We ensure our digital media output is legible, high contrast, and easily available, with alternative text and screen reader accessibility. D-UP offers access to programming focused on mental and emotional wellness including sensory activities, mindfulness and yoga activities and free access to an onsite outpatient therapist.
