STHS is recognized for quality, safety and the patient experience by CareChex, Leapfrog, Healthgrades, Hospital Compare, Women’s Choice and US News & World Report.  In partnership with Ochnser Health, St. Tammany Health System offers the most comprehensive hospital for children on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain in southeast Louisiana, including a pediatric ED and level two pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).  Staffed by Ochsner Hospital for Children pediatric intensivists, the PICU delivers a team with specialized training in caring for patients age 18 and under in need of higher-acuity care. Because the same physicians also care for patients in the STHS pediatrics unit adjacent to the PICU, the entire pediatric floor is known as Ochsner Hospital for Children at St. Tammany Health System.
