Payson Police Department

The Payson Police Department serves the communities of Payson and Star Valley which are located in the Mountains of Arizona.  Serving a population of approximately 17,128 between the two communities, the Payson Police Department is allocated 34 sworn positions including 21 officers, 6 sergeants, 4 detectives, 2 commanders, and a chief.  The Town of Payson consists of over 20 churches, five schools, five community parks (one currently in progress), and a multitude of hiking and biking trails.  It is the mission of the Payson Police Department to reduce crime and increase quality of life through community policing by advancing our technology and the capability of our staff with a commitment to our core values.

Green Valley Park has paved walkways around the larger lake and around the play equipment.  In addition, the new Granite Dells Park which is currently in progress is also being built with the idea of accessibility in the forefront of planners’ minds with ADA compliant trails throughout.  Furthermore, the Tonto National Monument’s Visitor Center, Museum, Park Store, and Picnic Area all meet accessibility standards as well.
